Have you noticed individuals who possess only a faint allegiance to what they say?
I'm not talking about the liars. We know that truth means little to them. I'm referring to good people who take one position in March and then, without a hint of explanation, adopt an opposite position in April. I've seen cases in which the shifts were within an hour.
It would be easy to categorize the people as reptilian, but I sense something else at play: a belief that words don't matter. In this school of thought, you say something in order to have said something and what has been said is of little moment.
There are also people who think out loud. [I'm guilty of that.] But these individuals don't just think out loud, they reach conclusions and make commitments out loud.
Odd.
I think some people must live in some sort of individual altered reality. I don't think they are making it up or lying, they honestly believe what they are saying even if it was different to what they had said before, I just don't think they remember or maybe their mouth is on automatic pilot, so something comes out, then you'll look and feel like you know something. Maybe it's just how they hide their lack of intelligence. Over the last couple of years I have really developed an understanding of the depth of the saying 'ignorance is bliss' and that knowledge and understanding only leads to stress. A simple example is the use of language, spelling and grammar, if you don't know or care about your spelling and grammar you don't have to worry, only those that know the difference between there, their and they're have anything to worry about. Such is the ease that people jump on the popular media wave and automatically become experts 'because they saw it on TV'
ReplyDeleteI think the word you're looking for is "politician." Ever notice that they never give a direct answer to a question. And, even if they do a 180, they'll try to convince you it was totally reasonable.
ReplyDeleteJust give me someone who has solid values and doesn't waver - no matter what the polls, neighbors, or peers may say!
