The argument for or against reconciliation is only hypothetical at this point. Once the house passes the Senate version of the bill, the Senate will have little to no incentive to change anything through reconciliation. I doubt they'll try hard.

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about that. The House traditionally resents the Senate and regards itself as being the closest to the people. House members may conclude that any provision that is not in the bill will never be seen again. It will be interesting to watch and even if it is passed, there will be other challenges. As Ambrose Bierce said, "Death is not final. Then comes the litigation."
