This DEA agent who shot himself in the foot during a safety demonstration has missed a major rule of public relations: Don't take yourself too seriously.
Here's my advice to him: Rather than suing, you should be trying to get on Leno and Letterman! Go on the talk show circuit. Joke about your aim. [Governor Bill Clinton took that approach after he gave a long-winded speech at the Democratic Convention that nominated Michael Dukakis and it worked for him!]
Everyone who's ever made a boneheaded mistake (and that's everyone) will empathize.
