Discussing The "Basics"

This post by Slow Leadership on the importance of generosity illustrates the importance of periodically reviewing basic virtues. Many are taken for granted and yet questions related to these virtues keep people awake nights and cause unneeded conflict.

For example:

When should loyalty be expected and when should it be suspended?

What is courage and how is it encouraged or discouraged in the workplace?

What is genuine tolerance and where are its boundaries?

Is absolute honesty always expected or are there exceptions?

What is fairness and is it ever attained?

An occasional discussion of those concepts would help many teams. As we become more diverse, such exchanges will become even more beneficial.
