We've all heard of protests against allegedly insensitive names for sports teams such as the Indians, the Redskins, and the Braves, but here's a new one:
Some African American groups are claiming that "Silverbacks" is racially offensive.
I think the criticism is unfounded and the allegation that the team's logo resembles an angry, young, black man is ridiculous. [Will retirees protest that the Silverbacks name is really a slam at old folks? Please.]
