Police leaders posted the 1958 Police Act online, and shockingly, actually invited citizens (even non-citizens) to write in their edits, additions and changes to the law, Wikipedia-style. The response was overwhelming. Sure, some of the contributions were nutty and ultimately weeded out, but some of them were doggone sensible and were ultimately incorporated into the final document which went to Parliament for approval. And the payoff in citizen espirit d’corps was pretty darn good too.
