Amazing how such a (relatively) primitive method of warfare (artillery) is actually so sophisticated. Most war equipment articles tend to discuss the modern additions like Predators, smart bombs, etc.
Sometimes the tried and true is what's getting things done.

ReplyDeleteIn my Army training days, I saw a demonstration by an artillery battery. The outdoor presentation started with an "Air Force" officer (carrying a golf club, of course) who looked at the clouds and declared the weather wasn't good enough for air support. The artillery then rapidly deployed and blew the hell out of the target.
Memorable.
