The workplace is odd because:
- If the team's long-term goal is the equivalent of New York City, you may have some team members who are tirelessly working to get to L.A.
- Your best work can go unnoticed while your slightly-above-average work gets a commendation.
- Job descriptions often accurately reflect many jobs, just not the ones they are supposed to describe.
- The hardest workers do the least bragging.
- Literacy is a common requirement, but reading between the lines can determine success.
- Many regard the corner office as a sign of success and yet it often represents the beginning of decline.
- The higher the floors, the thinner the candor.
- They may be called "minutes" but they are frequently read in less than a minute.
