Now That They Have Their Assignments

Now that they have their assignments, let's complicate matters by:

• Adding unnecessary rules;
• Requiring frequent and complicated reports;
• Sending someone to look over their shoulder;
• Adopting the latest management fad;
• Sending them to training on that fad;
• Punishing anyone who fails to do these ancillary tasks; 
• Rewarding those who may fail to achieve the mission but who are great at procedural compliance; and then
• Periodically initiating new versions of the above.
