The Selfless
If there is something kind or generous to be done, the selfless people will come through regardless of their circumstances or mood. They don't search for excuses. They don't need to "feel like it." They don't regard inaction as an acceptable or cute bad habit. They never excuse themselves by citing greater woes. They don't manipulate.
They are there when you need them, in ways large and small. I heard one described succinctly:
"She walked in when everyone else walked out."
At some point in their lives these people learned that duty is important and that good intentions - unless matched with results - don't really mean a whole lot.
They are truly noble souls who should never be taken for granted.
