Pushing It
Cultural Offering asks a key question about LinkedIn.
I'd add a few more: Have you ever been to a "networking" event where everyone is frantically trying to hand out business cards? Did you enjoy it? Is it possible that such events are covertly sponsored by the printers of business cards? If not, they should be.

Do you think you attendidng a networking meeting is waste of time with senseless chit-chat and exchange of business cards? Networking events aren’t there for closing deals, but instead exist so that you can market yourself, your company and your offerings. Focus on building relationships by willingly sharing information and insight. Focus on getting to know people and building rapport. Empathy is the key here!
