Back from the Conference
It was held in an old theater; one preserved from territorial days, and the lighting was sparse. The setting was appropriate because we were talking about history.
Although a microphone had been set up, I noticed that people were clearer when they avoided the mike so I chose full bellow and it worked out. After all, the theater had been designed for low tech/no tech. A loud voice would do the trick.
The central subject [how to make museums succeed] was interesting and the audience was composed of bright people who wanted to exchange ideas.
Given a reasonable schedule, that's never a bad combination.
