It Would Be Pleasant

It would be pleasant if the work came easily and deadlines were inherently reasonable and there was always plenty of time and money and the problems, such as they were, arrived alone and at convenient moments and no one got upset and all felt fairly treated and we had more than enough rest and could sip coffee while slowly deciding what should be done next by somebody else who would love nothing better than to work long hours and sing our praises.

It would be pleasant if we didn't have to worry about competitors or ulterior motives and power moves and if documents wrote themselves and knowledge could be obtained by osmosis and the teams didn't have factions and the calls could always be forwarded and the business meetings were locked onto a beach or mountain top where we could play games and watch as genius blessed each forehead.

But hey, we can't have that every day.
