Returning to Action

Life is one long series of interruptions.

As a result, we have to return to people, places, and projects and pick up where we left off. To do so neatly is often impossible but having the ability to do so reasonably well depends upon how we left them.

Having a formidable memory helps and yet even that may be challenged by the chaos of one's schedule. When the memory is less than sharp, keeping a log on project status can be a life-saver.

At the end of each day, note the status of each key project and specifically where it was left. If documents will be required when you return, note where they are.

If that practice seems strange, it is likely that you have never returned to a project and asked, "Where was I?"
