Change
Recently I mentioned to someone that my views on leadership have changed over the years. He looked surprised. I told him that if reality dictated they'd change again.
I don't think that reassured him.
This doesn't mean I don't hold strong views - I do - but I've never understood those who cling to ideas when facts point in another direction. [See: Marxism, Followers of.]
It also doesn't mean that opponents of change shouldn't put up a good fight. Those who automatically ascribe positive attributes to change haven't read much history (or used the latest version of computer software). I doubt if they had their eyes open during sizable parts of the last century. Unintended consequences show that sounding like a good idea is not the same as being a good idea.
Skepticism and Flexibility are valuable allies.
