There are few things more pleasurable than the "wow" moment when you are reading an essay by an intelligent observer and you get a perspective you've never encountered. You may not agree with it but nonetheless are thankful you were able to consider it.
And you may never see things quite the same again.
The closest thing is when you are able to successfully share the new insight with another, giving them a wow moment of their own.
