Checking Ourselves Out
"One of the worst things about life is not how nasty the nasty people are. You know that already. It is how nasty the nice people can be."
- Anthony Powell

I was just reading this same sentiment: “Guy don't need no sense to be a nice fella. Seems to me sometimes it jus' works the other way around. Take a real smart guy and he ain't hardly ever a nice fella.” ― John Steinbeck, Of Mice and Men
ReplyDeletePaula,
ReplyDeleteInteresting quote.
A certain level of hubris can accompany being smart or being nice and it can block reality.
I have to admit though that some of the nicest people I've known are also pretty smart.
Thanks!
