Try Basic First

You are considering what seems to be a complicated project. If you are like a large part of the world's population, you put all of your skill and insight to bear and - catch this - make it more complicated.

Before your brilliance and sophistication nudge you onto that dubious path, try a basic solution; one that probably won't get your picture on the board room wall but will nonetheless solve the problem,

I have scars to show what happens when we get too "smart." It gobbles time and busts deadlines. Go first with basic and then, if you have additional time to spare, see if improvements are possible.

Just make sure they are improvements.
