A Busy Little Bee
In one post, Althousemanages to combine "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," "Gladiator," porn, and a few other subjects. She was wrong, of course, about "Gladiator."
My wife and I decided this weekend that Hollywood can no longer entertain. We watched Mother's Day, a star-studded dud. It was loaded with all the proper elements: the gay neighbors, Indian husband, brown child, hilljack parents, couple with a child out of wedlock. Perfect combination. Miserable movie.
Ben Stein wrote a book years ago - "The View from Sunset Boulevard" - in which he noted Hollywood's formulaic approach: businessmen were corrupt, preachers were hypocrites, etc.
They become very predictable and it is refreshing when, as in "Forest Gump," they go against the script.
