It would be nice if the states actually eliminated the need for licenses for occupations such as florist, hair stylist, etc. where there really is not a need other than to enrich their own pockets and power base. I fear that will not happen with the desired frequency. In fact, with the demonstration of power that federal, state and local governments have shown during this pandemic, I would foresee even more regulation limiting our rights. Government officials rarely pare back on power and taxation.
Arizona's governor took steps to cut back on licensing and reduce the requirements for re-licensing before the pandemic took place. One of the motives was to make it easier for various professionals to move to Arizona.
It will be interesting to see how many of the changes made during the pandemic return to life once it is gone. I'm also skeptical of government paring its power but there may be an economic advantage in this one.

Agreed - perhaps I am too much the cynic when it comes to trusting government. I do hope you are right.
