In addition to several management books, I've been reading, slowly but diligently, Neal Stephenson's novel about codes and code-breakers, Cryptonomicon. It is fascinating; the sort of book that puts you in awe that people can be so bright.
Over the past few months, I read and highly recommend each of the following:
Allies by William Shawcross. (The old critic on the Cambodian invasion looks at the decision of Bush and Blair to go to war.)
Eagle in the Snow by Wallace Breem. (A Roman commander during the fall of Rome.)
Getting Things Done by David Allen. (A great guide on getting things, well, you know.)
Dissolution by C.J. Sansom. (A novel set during Henry VII's war on the monasteries.)
