"Consideration is a great deal more than just being nice to each other, but that is not a bad place to begin. I remember the slogan from the Greenbrier hotel on its anniversary which said: 'One hundred years of ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen.' That is a statement containing a lot of instruction and policy. It speaks of respect given and expected. In more practical terms it tells the personnel department something about the type of worker personality to avoid; it lets employees know much of what management expects of them; it reminds management of its proper role; it puts the guests on their best behavior; and it makes everyone aware that the place cares what it is all about."
