E-Book Comparisons

Rich Jaroslovsky compares the Kindle with the Nook.

I have one of the original Kindles and love it.

  1. Thanks for this. I didn't realize how fast the e-reader segment was growing until two days ago. Wandering around Staples I was chatting with a clerk, amazed at the proliferation of gps toys. The conversation drifted to how hard it is to read long items from a monitor and I mentioned my habit of printing off multi-page copies to read later. (You can't easily take a monitor to the loo.)
He said his mother was happy with her Sony e-reader and I had never heard of them.
Apparently with some of these things you can grab something from the Web like capturing it in print. Who khew?
It seems there is a whole crop of new Kindle wannabe toys.

  2. Cutting down on weight and volume while increasing my choices by a factor of 20, I toted my Kindle across the pond recently. What a great decision; what a great device! As long as I had my 220/110 converter handy every few days, my Kindle was always up and running.
One of the best purchases of the last decade; from my own lifestyle, I'd put it above a cellphone in necessity.

(Just wish I'd had one of these with me when the darkness overtook the day)
