Craig McClean interviews the marvelous Christopher Plummer. An excerpt:
It wasn’t very good, that movie,’ he says. ‘The story is fascinating – I just don’t think we were very good. Of course, we were all blind drunk most of the time.
'All those early Sixties movies, everybody took so much time – we all had the luxury of seemingly endless time. So when you look at then now, a lot of them are terribly slow, have you noticed? It’s because we were p---ed! We went off for two-hour lunches and came back, [slurs] “let’s not shoot for the rest of today, let’s do it tomorrow”.’
