Kaus Surges to Over 5% of the Vote

From the campaign concession speech of Mickey Kaus:

I'm a blogger. I spent about $40,000. I had one part-time aide, a recent college grad who was prepping for his LSATs. We had no headquarters, no pollsters, no highly paid strategists and consultants. We had a couple of laptops and an old Volvo.

It's a pity he didn't win the nomination. A race between Fiorina and Kaus would have been fascinating. But $40,000 in a California race does not get you far.
