Say Ahh
The question arose of whether clients would be interested in "brown bag" - informal - sessions where I meet with five to 10 executives/managers/supervisors to talk about management issues. The executives usually prefer individual coaching but that's always available. The idea behind these sessions would be that a small group of people would be able to get solutions early and easily and before today's troubling question turns into tomorrow's pressing problem.
That's the rub. I've found there are reasons why people don't seek advice about budding problems. They may not see it as a problem or they may think they can handle it by themselves or they don't want to admit that they have a problem. That may be the answer. Rather than posing the meetings as a problem-solving session, it may be wiser and more accurate to describe them as management check-ups. You can feel fine and still go to the doctor for a physical.
The doctor is in.
