The Reenactors
The strange world of historical reenactors is discussed in Anthony Paletta's review of Charlie Schroeder's book. [Don't miss the book trailer.]
Many of you will recall Tony Horwitz's hilarious Confederates in the Attic: Dispatches from the Unfinished Civil War, in which fanatical reenactors dismissed their less-than-authentic colleagues, who were too fat, too clean, and less fond of gnawing on moldy fatback, as "farbs."
If Schroeder's book is in the same league, it will be be an enjoyable trip indeed.
