Althouse has the story as well as a New Yorker's rant.
When I finished reading the post, I thought, "Someone should edit a collection of rants by New Yorkers. Ranting is one of their favorite hobbies."
The book would be cited by non-New Yorkers as confirmation of their wisdom in not living there.
