The World Almanac
When I was young, my grandmother gave me a copy of The World Almanac every Christmas.
I loved it. You can lose yourself going through its concise assortment of information. The book was an annual reminder of how much there is to know.
It was when my grandmother passed away and the presents ceased that I, being a cheap toad, dropped the almanac habit. That was much to my loss. This year, I revived the practice and am thoroughly pleased.
If you don't have a copy, get thee to a bookstore. You'll thank me later.
