Remembering Milton Friedman

As a professor, he did not attempt to convert students to his political views. I made no secret of the fact that I was a Marxist when I was a student in Professor Friedman's course, but he made no effort to change my views. He once said that anybody who was easily converted was not worth converting.

Training Day

Well, both a training and marketing day. It involves teaching a workshop on harassment prevention and then preparing a leadership briefing for lawyers.

Where's the marketing? In the product, of course. As a training broker once told me, "They see you. They like you. The trick is getting them to see you."

Gore Vidal has died. His politics were from the fever swamps of the Left and his personality fostered a multitude of enemies but the man wrote very well. My favorite Vidal novels are Julian and Lincoln.
