Yesterday was the funeral of a man I'd served with on a board.
A true gentleman.
For the most part, the eulogies described a stranger, not because the details were out of character but because there was a vast chunk of his life which, until then, had been unknown to me.
I can ascribe that to the limited contact we'd had. Boards and committees tend to be task-oriented. Even if you learn certain facts about a person, you may not truly know the individual.
We are surrounded by mysteries and we are one as well.
