Calls Plus

How much of the workday is consumed by preparing to make a call, recovering from a call, and expecting a call?

The calls themselves take far less time.

Rarely do your posts resonate so little with me. :)

I can't even remember the last time I got a work phone call. The few times I need to give out my work phone number, I have to take out my business card to check the number.

Email my good man! And I suppose it's beneficial most of my coworkers are in my building these days. -Bobbo

Bobbo,

Ha! Most of my contacts are via email but remember, we have to look at the world through the window and not the mirror.

Many of my clients still get a sizable number of calls and even if the number is small, the fact that it is rare can even add to the stress of a real, live, listening person on the line.

The two of us risk being perceived as dinosaurs by many younger employees who are more prone to texting than emailing or calling.

With all of that in mind, I have no doubt that there are many workplaces where your observation is right on target. As for being in the same building, it is hard to replace walking down the hall and talking directly with someone.
