If you had good intentions but your actions produced terrible results, the results are still terrible. If a distraction is caused by a treasured friend and not by a pest, it is still a distraction. If a problem stems from a strength and not a weakness, it is still a problem. If an adversary does something good, it is still good.
It is easy to forget that results have a way of standing by themselves.
