The Report

I spent part of the weekend working on a report. That means:

• Jotting down related thoughts in a journal while at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
• Writing points in the margin of a newspaper.
• Writing on note cards.
• Typing a rough draft.
• Thinking about changing the format of that draft.
• Sitting quietly to ponder that change.
• Simplifying the concepts.
• Eating a sliver of chocolate cake.
• Writing a second draft.

The final draft awaits. 

It will require coffee.
