Lay-Off Rebounding Tips

What to do if you're a victim of a lay-off?

U.S. News & World Report has some straight-forward tips here. An excerpt:

Find on-target job openings by visiting lots of your ideal employers' Web sites. Employers hire people through their own Web sites more often than from megasites such as Monster, CareerBuilder, or HotJobs. Perhaps more important, tell everyone you know the sort of job you're looking for. Make sure your tone conveys that you welcome the opportunity to move on to something better. If you sound depressed or embarrassed, the person will assume you were at fault.

One of their best tips is to check yourself out. Consider getting additional training and even explore if starting a business would make sense. Waiting for the job to "come back" may be one of the worst options.
