I had the opportunity to interview a German woman, not Jewish, who talked about her experiences that day. She'd gone shopping with her sister, and the storm broke while they were in the store. She also talked about the crowd she found at home. Her father was a local doctor, and she said many local Jews came to ask for his help. Very compelling stuff when you know what comes next.
