In the room the women come and go, talking of Michangelo;
Do I dare disturb the universe?

I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each.
I do not think they will sing to me.

Eliot was one depressed dude.
"I grow old. I grow old. I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled."

"Party animal" and Eliot are rarely associated.

Eliot was obsessed with death by drowning. Check out the last lines of Prufrock:
"We have lingered in the chambers of the sea
By sea-girls wreathed with seaweed red and brown
Till human voices wake us, and we drown."

I noticed that cheery ending.

BTW: I'm reading and enjoying your book of poetry. Will look for mermaids and drowning.

You are probably one of the few, the proud, the reader of my poetry. You won't find mermaids and drowning. You might find a few old girlfriends, and some children. :-)
