In The Stacks

Few weeks pass when I don't visit a family-run used bookstore near my home. It is well-maintained and organized with a fine collection of books and the people are charming. I stopped by there today intending to buy an old book on political philosophy by Russell Kirk and walked out with the Kirk volume plus four mysteries and a book on business law. I get a perpetual discount because I've donated so many books to the place over the years; some of the more arcane volumes can still be found on their shelves although I've made a point of giving them good stuff that will turn-over quickly.

And if my memory is correct, I've occasionally re-purchased some of my old books. With certain volumes, distance can make the heart grow fonder.
