I've told my children never to talk critically of anyone in a crowded restaurant while holding the expectation that no one sitting nearby knows the person.
That whole "six degrees of separation" stuff can quickly shrink and I trust many of you have experienced its surprises.
Unless you are a recluse, you've probably built up a circle of friends and acquaintances that can, if we were to take into account their network, go far beyond your expectations.
Play the game sometime. Pick a famous name and if you personally don't know that person, see how hard it is to find someone you know who knows the person or who knows a person who knows the person.
You may be shocked.
