It Was Assumed



  • It was assumed that they wanted the best person for the job. It turned out they wanted the person who was the least likely to be criticized.
  • It was assumed that they wanted the team to get a lot of things done. It turned out that they wanted the team just to keep up with the others.
  • It was assumed that they wanted leadership that would think decades ahead and not merely about today. It turned out that they wanted leadership that would be pleasant and would cater to the board. Foresight was optional.
As we go through life, we learn to be wary of our assumptions.
