The Problem with Proverbs



Sometimes he who hesitates is saved; the early bird is eaten while the worm watches; cheaters do indeed prosper; honesty is not the best policy; haste may make waste but you'd better get moving; and it is in fact better to put off until tomorrow what can be done today.

We go through life with catchy phrases obtained in childhood. 

They contain much wisdom but wrinkles and scars bring an acute awareness of the exceptions.
