The quiet heroes never get medals. They are not famous. No one ever asks for their autograph. They get up every day and do extraordinary things for others. Perhaps just for one person. The number doesn't matter. What is impressive is they serve with no expectation for reward and yet with a diligence that the most exacting audit could not fault.
If we knew all there was to know about their dedication, I suspect we would weep. Sometimes, unsolicited kindness brings the most tears.
