Brand Loyalty

I was listening to Dennis Prager on the radio yesterday. He was discussing the question of whether we retain loyalty to a product we encountered in our youth. He noted that while he grew up in a Crest toothpaste household, he switched to Colgate as soon as he left home. His first two cars were Saabs but he didn't stay with that brand.

That got me to thinking, of course, about my own brand loyalties.

They are a little thin.

I drink Coke and Pepsi. Have bought several Fords but have also owned several other car makes. Like Lenovo laptops but currently have an ASUS. Like Land's End shirts but also buy other brands.

So where are my strongest brand loyalties? WD-40. Bon Ami. Gillette razors. Commentary magazine. Sudafed. Swiss Army knives. Hebrew National Franks. Ecco shoes. The Wall Street Journal. Tabasco sauce.

Hmm.

What are yours?

Daniel,

Such loyalties are taken to the grave.
