Bonds. James Bonds.

A recent conversation sparked a quest to determine who played James Bond and in which order.

I had forgotten a few of them but was surprised to learn that seven actors have had the role. (The second was a complete shock and may even be said to be a technicality. All of us can name Sean Connery.]

Here are the details. I'll list the names below in small print but before bouncing down to the answers, see if you can name the seven in order of their first appearance.

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.

[Sean Connery; David Niven; George Lazenby; Roger Moore; Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan; and Daniel Craig.]

That was fun. The answers were easy for me because the "Casino Royale" spoof with Niven and Sellers and "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" with the incomparable Dame Diana Rigg are my two most favorite Bond Movies. There is probably not another human on the planet who would agree with me though.

Texas Leigh,

I never saw that version of "Casino Royale."

Based on your recommendation I will check it out.

Thanks!

Michael

Remember "Casino Royale" is a true product of 1967. THE David Niven rides a donkey, Joanna Pettet does a fight scene dressed as Mata Hari, and you must look for Peter O'Toole! Burt Bacharach's score sold a lot of albums (as did the album cover itself). Suspend belief and enjoy the trip (and the sets).

Texas Leigh,

I saw the movie poster and it seemed very Late Sixties/Seventies-ish.

Your consumer warning will be kept in mind (and I will look for Peter O'Toole).

Thanks!
