Late Evening

My wife rises early and so had gone to bed. I'd walked the dog and had completed a list of things to do the next day so it was off to the living room sofa with one book on why men don't go to church, another on leadership and ethics, and a Flashman novel.

I was also awaiting a phone call.

I brought along a pen to make notes in the first two books. Most of the time was spent thinking about how the problems of churches could apply to other organizations. I read some of the Flashman novel but it caused me to laugh so much it had to be set aside so I could get in the proper mood for sleep.

The dog came in and stared at me: it was a request that the blanket be readjusted on her bed. I did so. She sighed and quickly shaped it to her own liking.

The call never came but I learned a lot about the problems of church attendance.

I'm still thinking about it.
