"American Dirt" and Identity Politics Madness

The campaign against the novel "American Dirt" has become all-too-familiar

I wonder how many publishers would turn down Tony Hillerman's Navajo detective novels if he were starting out today simply because Hillerman wasn't Navajo.

Hillerman a favorite. His geograpical descriptions were splendid and very accurate. The westward view of the north end of Monument Valley also is a favorite. True America, buy a Chevy. Always end up in Blanding, Utah for the night. Best regards.

Walt,

The Hillerman novels are entertaining and educational and their setting is magnificent.

Best regards,
