Molly Wade is an American Staffordshire Terrier, thoroughly sweet, and a walking work of art. She comes into my den/office at least once a day for a chat. Those talks usually involve my telling her what a great and noble dog she is.
She takes the praise with an appropriate combination of modesty and silence.
There are times, of course, when she communicates in dog language - a lingo I've been studying for years - and I can usually tell what she wants. Food and walks are common requests but there are also times when she simply wants to visit and nothing more.
Visits are our silent chats.
