Althouse cites a gizmo at The New York Times that calculates the political parties of the thousand voters closest to you.

I tried it for my neighborhood and the conclusion was: "Your neighbors are a pretty diverse bunch, politically. About 45 percent are Democrats, 54 percent are Republicans, and 1 percent are Independents."
