Leadership and Management Styles from Unusual Sources

I knew a union leader who worshiped "The Godfather." He quoted from it.  He drew lessons from it. He had his associates study the print and film versions of the wisdom of Don Corleone.

Are there any works of fiction that have influenced your leadership and management practices?

Love that book. One lesson I took away was the line, "It's not personal, it's business" is frequently misunderstood and misquoted. From the book you learn that the Godfather was successful because he took EVERYTHING personal.

Also have long thought that another who movie could be made about Johnny Fontaine in Hollywood.

Chris,

I read the book when it came out and can still remember minor lines of advice.

Your idea about a film on Johnny Fontaine is great!
