Conversation? What's That?

This article on the decline of conversation struck a nerve with me.

If I were challenged to come up with today's equivalents of Samuel Johnson, Robert Benchley, Eric Hoffer or Dorothy Parker, I'd have a tough time without naming people who are in their seventies or older.
